Russell Brown - Innovation and Operational Technology Director

Russell Brown has an extensive background in the industry, and considerable experience, notably in the Renewables sector; he has a passion for the future decarbonisation of the gas networks and for Knowledge Transfer as part of any business strategy.

He said, “I am joining Thyson at a pivotal moment in their business development as they take innovative steps within the hydrogen and biomethane renewable energy sectors. My role is to extend their already market-leading technological knowledge, identify additional operational solutions required in our partners’ businesses, and enhance our outstanding intelligence culture so that we continue to deliver innovative, sustainable solutions for all our customers.”

Thyson’s Managing Director Matt Allen stated, “We make it our mission to understand our customers goals, whether in terms of the environment, cyber security risks or business resilience, and we use our technological capabilities to integrate those requirements into commercially viable solutions that deliver long-term mutual benefits.

“Russell is a great addition to the leadership team. He joins at a critical time for the business and will be instrumental in enhancing our position at the forefront of numerous UK and global decarbonisation hydrogen projects. We are totally focused on becoming the UK’s market leader in maximising our customers’ uptime and sale of renewable gas into the gas networks. Russell is key to these ambitious plans, which include doubling the number of client sites serviced and maintained annually within three years, from just under twenty sites today. The leadership team will continue to drive Thyson forward to achieve our goals, which are always underpinned by the strength of our people and the partnerships we forge with our customers.”

Thyson has recently been awarded the prestigious Cyber Essentials accreditation, by IASME, demonstrating it has the key essentials for IT infrastructure and security, something that is solution-critical for its customers and partners.

Thyson Technology designs, builds, commissions and maintains customer equipment, focused on the measurement of gas and liquid, and has a successful track record in the Oil, Gas and Chemical market, the injection of renewable energy – biomethane and hydrogen – into the UK gas grid, and solutions for the UK gas distribution networks to meet regulatory requirements and emissions reduction targets.
