Engineering Administrator

We are currently seeking an experienced Engineering Administrator to work with Thyson on a full-time, permanent staff basis from our offices in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.

Key Objectives:

  • The Engineering Administrator shall be responsible for supporting the Engineering function by performing day to day administration activities, including but not limited to collating information, producing documentation in electronic format, managing document control, procurement, expediting deliveries filing and secretarial support.

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising Purchase orders and Invoicing.
  • Answer telephones and taking client calls and documenting requirements
  • Use of SAGE and Microsoft Office to create new project folders and modify documents
  • Ensure project drawings and documents are issued and saved in a controlled manner and within agreed time-scales.
  • Arrange shipping of client orders and associated documentation including docs to be attested by the chamber of commerce.
  • Any other ad hoc admin duties to ensure the smooth running of the projects including but not limited to: photocopying, emailing and filing.
  • Responsible for their own health and safety and that of others and undertake the obligations as defined within the TTL H&S Manual.
  • Assist in the implementation of the TTL Quality Assurance, Environmental Management System, abide and promote its Policies and Procedures.

    Knowledge and Qualifications:

  • GCSE standard or equivalent in Maths and English Language.

    Essential Skills:

  • Competency in Microsoft Office, specifically MS Word, Excel & Outlook.
  • SAGE Line 50 / 200 CRM (training will be given).
  • Good numeric and analytical skill.
  • Aware of, and comply with all project procedures.
  • Knowledge of documentation work flow.
  • Basic understanding of engineering documentation, its generation and revision.

  • Previous administration experience essential.
  • Working in an engineering environment desirable.
