EC&I Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced EC&I Engineer to work with Thyson on a full-time, permanent staff basis from our offices in Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
Key Objectives:
Undertake design of E, C&I systems for analyser houses, sample conditioning systems and control systems. Work and prepare CAD drawings through CAD department, appraise quotations for materials/components, liaison with clients, third party consultants & suppliers. Provision of technical support to in-house manufacturing and project managers, ensure the design elements of the program are completed on time and designs are drawn-up in accordance with applicable specifications and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Attend project handover with the sales team.
Attend in-house and client meetings providing technical support to project managers.
Liaison with clients and sub-suppliers of the delivery of the projects.
Production of conceptual design documentation based on client URS.
Production of functional design specifications based on client URS.
Production of detailed design based on conceptual design documentation.
Production of FAT documentation for E, C&I and process disciplines.
Undertaking design reviews and chairing design review meetings.
In house manufacturing support based on produced design.
Vendor selection and review vendor proposals.
Working in multi-disciplinary team on Oil & Gas projects.
Manage and report the delivery of project drawings and associated records.
Assist the commissioning team on testing of the systems during FAT and site as and when required.

Communicate Good Practice to other projects with reference to the Performance Improvement Procedure
Responsible for their own health and safety and that of others and undertake the obligations as defined within the TTL H&S Manual.
Assist in the implementation of the TTL Quality Assurance, Environmental Management System, abide and promote its Policies and Procedures.
Qualifications:
Electrical Engineering qualification to HNC/HND (or equivalent) level required.
Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline preferred but not essential.
Skills:
Competent in the use of MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
5 + years E, C&I design experience.
Proficient with AutoCAD software package.
Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft Office products.
Proficient with Amtech ProDesign software package.
Knowledge of electrical testing and inspection in accordance with BS7671.
Able to undertake electrical installation cabling design.
Excellent organisational skills & manage own worked load to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of ATEX and design of systems for hazardous areas.
Knowledge and experience of the design life cycles of a project
Knowledge of PLC Equipment specification..
Knowledge:
Experience in equipment engineering specifications and standards.
Organised and methodical drawing/document control.
Knowledge of build processes.
Awareness of the regulations and standards applicable to E, C&I systems.
Display good commercial awareness.
Familiarity with Small Bore Pipe Work Systems.
Working knowledge and experience of DSEAR and ATEX.

Experience:
Experience of working within the process, oil & gas and petrochemical industry
Broad engineering background.
Working experience with analysers preferred.
Experience of control system design and production of wiring diagrams.
Experience working within the gas distribution/transmission industry preferred.
